NYS Charities Bureau - Registration of Delinquent Organizations Cancelled
http://www.charitiesnys.com/cancelledorg.jsp
Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman has announced that, as of August 28, 2012, the registrations of the organizations listed below have been cancelled because they failed to file their required annual financial reports with the Attorney General's Charities Bureau. As a result, these organizations are prohibited from soliciting charitable contributions and grants in New York or engaging in any other fundraising activities in New York. If you have information that a cancelled organization is soliciting charitable contributions in New York, please notify the Charities Bureau through our complaints page.
In order for a cancelled organization to be reinstated, it must re-register by submitting form CHAR410R with the required attachments, along with all delinquent annual financial reports and all required fees. Forms and instructions are posted here.
Members of the public are urged to review this list and consult the Attorney General's Tips on Charitable Giving before making donations.
This list is current as of August 28, 2012 and will be updated periodically. Please check our onlineCharities Registry for the most recent information concerning individual organizations.

by Chuck Humphrey
"Chuck Humphrey began practicing law in 1968. He was a partner in the national firm of Kirkland & Ellis when, in 1986, he became one of the two founding partners of Addoms & Humphrey, a Business Development Company, that assisted in structuring and financing new ventures. Chuck continues his law practice, which principally focuses on gambling law, business matters, and structuring transactions."

Many states have enacted laws exempting certain charitable gaming activities from the applicable anti-gambling laws.
Websites containing state statutes are available for all states, although they may be out of date. The excerpts presented here are taken from those websites. It may take a long time before new provisions of a state law are incorporated into the online text the state makes available. Before acting on any information contained in gambling-law-us.com you should get up to date and to the point advice from a lawyer.
The most commonly exempted activities are bingo and charitable raffles as well as certain types of casino games. Hawaii and Utah do not have any charitable gaming laws.
The charitable gaming laws from all states that have them are listed in the table below. To view the applicable state law click on the name of the state
